Job Location: Rome, Italy.
Job description: Research, write and edit video news stories. Conduct interviews. Do stand ups and voice-overs in English. Publish news stories on-line. Translate news stories from Spanish to English. Website promotion and offer foreign correspondent services to US TV stations.
Position Requirements: Bilingual (fluent in English, conversational in Spanish, ability to learn Italian quickly) reporters to cover Vatican and Italian news for a worldwide audience. Must possess a college degree in journalism, television broadcasting, or communications. Two years experience as a reporter for commercial television including on-camera work. Solid news judgment.
Skills and Abilities: Personal interest in covering the Pope and Vatican activities. Interest in the historical and cultural background of the Roman Catholic Church as well as art history and European culture. Ability to interact with high-ranking Vatican officials and diplomats. Edit using Final Cut Pro. Strong broadcast and AP-style writing skills. This is a TV news agency, so speed, teamwork, accuracy and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential.
Starting: September 2012. One year. Renewable.
Salary: About $30.000 depending on qualifications and circumstances.
